Romeo sneaks in disguised to spy on a girl he fancies named Rosaline so he can measure her against the other young women but while he is there he falls madly in love with Juliet who outshines all the lovely young ladies at the ball.

Erstwhile, Juliet has also noticed Romeo and fallen in love with him. Romeo and Juliet exchange words that fix their fate and they become lovers.

They eventually marry in a secret ceremony performed by Friar Laurence, a priest and friend to the couple.

Shortly after the wedding ceremony Romeo encounters his friend Mercutio quarreling with Tybalt. Romeo tries to stop the fight when Tybalt mortally wounds Romeo's bestfriend Mercutio and Romeo, then kills Tybalt. The Prince of Verona then banishes Romeo.

After her family lays her in the family burial vault, the friar and Romeo will rescue her. Juliet agrees and the friar sends a message to Romeo that will explain the plan to him. By accident, that message never reaches Romeo but he does hear of his wife's death.

Grief stricken, Romeo buys a vile of poison and goes back to Verona so he can die beside his Juliet.
