Twelfth Night was finished by William Shakespeare in 1601.

Just one of Shakespeare's many comedies; in Twelfth Night, a twin brother and sister go down in a shipwreck. Viola, the sister, believing her brother dead, begins to dress as a man and makes her way into the court of Orsino, Duke of Illyria and enemy to her own native country. Unfortunately Viola falls in love with the duke who is in love with a woman named Olivia whom as fate would have it is also grieving a dead brother and vows never to marry.

Olivia vows never to marry that is until she meets Viola's character as a man Cesario and pursues him/her which makes poor Viola almost sick.

This ugly yet funny web grows ever more tangled when Sir Anderw Aguecheek and Malvolio begin to pursue the chaste Olivia.

Viola's presumably dead brother Sebastian turns up alive and meets Olivia and falls in love with her. Olivia also falls in love with Sebastian.

Eventually Olivia and Sebastian are married and Orsino finally realizes that he loves Viola and everyone lives happily ever after.
